AS I - Waters of Mekelle field excursion – part IV
Students were appointed to prepare map of Mekelle and point out by your choice sources of water: 3 main rivers or water holes (one is very beautiful – Milano ‘resort’ near Hilltop), 3 main water city sources and 1-3 private wheels. Tasks were to prepare & write down; map of the location with water source, condition and improvements, name of water source and technical data; dimension, natural or man-made, distribution of water (daily and yearly), impact on the neighbourhood, present 10 photos of water source, if man-made - write down the title of the project, author and date when it was built, if river - data name and location where it’s begins and ends.

Theme 3 built-in the floor bathtub/pool, Theme 4 bathroom showers, Theme 5 bathrooms connected with outside, Theme 6 micro and mini pools, water mirrors
House on a waterfall – part system
Students will take study case which as an architecture includes water natural environment itself- Falling water or Kaufmann Residence; analyse was done on water spaces (bathrooms, kitchens, guest toilets, and utility, and any other space with water) in all tree plans, both sections. On site plan logical location and approximate dimensions for water disposal container, septic tank and possible rainwater collector should be connected with directions of pipes from the house.
Centre Georges Pompidou – whole system
Students will take study case which as an architecture is one of the most famous and radical buildings of our time - Centre Georges Pompidou; should explain what are ‘Gerberettes’, definition of refrigeration, explain what is boiler and what is boiler plant, explain what is water storage with pressurization systems, sprinklers, where the fire brigade source water in case of fire in any building.

Master tree location – natural water source
Eastern hills of Mekelle are (were) natural habitat of ancient Ficus sycomorus or sycamore fig, the ‘Master tree’ of Mekelle which should be catalogued by number (total protection!) and put in green map of city, Unfortunately ongoing devastation of these natural monuments is taking place every day! Red list!
India's Forgotten Stepwells
Many sub-Saharan African provinces, which have the natural characteristics of a semi-dessert, suffer from daily water shortages. Not because they would actually be short of water, but because they do not know how to use water resources with thousand-year-old techniques, structures and constructions in space / landscape

Water tower design
Water towers are infrastructures that transcend their technical purpose and help to shape the greater landscape. In the cities where water supply is strongly connected with lack of water, misunderstanding of distribution of water and no proper pressure, water towers should take iconic architectural representation in city space.
